Seven things I am grateful for today

There are a lot of things to be grateful for on the weekend.

1. Yesterday I had a good workout at the gym and then headed to Sabino Canyon for a walk. Even though it's still pretty hot I need to be outside.

2. Date to SirVezas. The best taco salad I have ever eaten. Yum. Good company too. <3 Thanks for dinner, E-Frey!

3. E and I watched Supertroopers last night. It was hilarious.

4. I had to go to the DMV today and E came with me. He is such a nice fellow.

5. Tonight Mead came over and we schemed about raised beds, chickens, a composter, and rain water harvesting plans. Well, they aren't exactly plans so much as schemes really. At least for now.

6. This is my last week of full time.

7. A good chat with my mom last night.

Five things I am grateful for today

1. Tonight is my last night and then a two day weekend with Eric. I am so excited to just have a mellow couple of days to relax.
2. Roofrauff.
3. I have a humungous salad to take to work. Mmm. It didn't even fit in our usual containers so I had to find something bigger.
4. I slept nine hours today. 8:30-5:30.
5. I am grateful that I have a good family, and that I had an amazing father. Miss you, Sire.

Five things I am grateful for today

Five minutes until i leave for work...five things in five minutes.

1. I rescheduled my errands to make time for a quick nap before work.
2. The food I am taking to work ROCKS. Salad, grapes, nectarine, carrot, low fat cheese, crackers, tomato, artichoke hearts, yogurt and granola, and two chocolate chip cookies. YUM. I can hear my mom's voice saying, "where's the protein?" Momster, it was in the burger I had earlier.
3. The burger I had earlier.
4. Last night I slept for eleven hours. I no longer feel sleep deprived, though I wonder if my body is fighting off bugs. Yes Momster, I am taking supplements just in case.
5. A nice long catch up email from Wendy sent a couple of days ago, but I am still enjoying it now.

Five things I am grateful for today

1. Last night my unit was short nurses so they called me in with extra pay. The shift went well, three kind appreciative patients and one other. I had a great tech which makes a world of difference. I have been working more than usual as I precept Rene. Four whole twelve hour shifts this week. So many people always work four 12's. Working more makes me grateful for my slow, peaceful "real life".

2. Eric snuck my favorite kind of frozen pizza into the freezer as a present. It's in the oven right now. Mmm hmm!

3. Crunchy spicy tuna roll and some salmon nigiri at Sushi Garden's happy hour with Rene.

4. I have spent almost the whole evening lying on the couch researching desert gardening, building raised beds, composting and water harvesting. It has been super-relaxing and fun. I am scheming about starting a small vegetable garden, maybe 4'x8' at most. I love the idea of a garden that you plant in October, such a foreign concept for my Pacific Northwestern brain. I don't want it to be too big and overwhelming. I just want a few feet of space to grow spinach, lettuce, chard, maybe some beets and carrots, and whatever else grows well. I reserved a book or two from the library on desert gardening to hopefully learn more. I have been scheming about a vegetable garden for several years. I'm not sure if now is the time to start it or not, but either way it is fun to think about. p.s. I still REALLY want chickens. In case anyone was wondering.

5. I am SO tired and the idea of sleeping is beautiful. I am grateful in advance for sleep--my glorious bed, clean sheets, and no reason to wake up before 2pm.

I'll be working Friday and Saturday night so I might not be back until Sunday or Monday. Be well and have a delicious weekend!

Five or six things I am grateful for today

1. Groceries! E and I went to 17th St. Market to get out of our food rut. We bought lots of neat foods and I am excited to cook with them.
2. I am grateful for the years my RAV4 carried me safely around town, and on all the long trips I took it on.
3. My sweet new blue Jeep Patriot.
4. Roofrauff's sensitivity.
5. To Eric for hanging out with me all day while I took care of car things. He made it much more fun than it could have been.
6. Jeepster has a hitch now--for Christmas last year E gave me a bike rack that attaches to a hitch but as hitches are make/model specific I waited until I bought my new car to get one. Time to take our bikes all over the place! (Well, as soon as it cools down a little!)
