1. This morning in the all staff meeting I was recognized for my hard work this month. It feels good to be appreciated.
2. Another good day at work--busy all day long for almost 12 hours. I had a good admission down in Nogales. A patient said, ""Mi hija, I like your mother and wish her well because she had you, and you are wonderful." How sweet is that?!
3. A nice chat with my momster
4. Spring time in the desert
5. E came home for dinner--I made us grilled cheese, and salad for me. The salad had sliced pears, macadamia nuts and my current favorite salad dressing (Marston's San Pascual). It was deeelish.

Five things I am grateful for today
A fun Saturday night with E and friends
A good night's sleep
An early morning walk on the Rillito today
My weekend has officially started
Yesterday after I worked I did an hour of yoga, drew one of the juniper trees in the backyard and then just laid on the futon and watched clouds go by and hummingbirds. It felt so good to relax.

Five things I am grateful for today
1. A hike in Sabino Canyon with my friend Carolyn.
The flowers are blooming on the cacti, lovely.
The sound of water on rocks.
She is such a good listener.
The weather was perfect.
2. Work went well.
My boss really does have my back.
I was able to help a coworker who usually only helps me.
I feel appreciated for what I really want to contribute to the world.
A patient's family member had a chance to be really angry today when I called him with an annoying issue. Instead he said, "okay, that's fine" and didn't seem perturbed at all. If it were me, I might have been furious. I am grateful to him for setting a good example of a different option for reacting.
3. Dinner at Poco and Mom's.
Who knew they served their breakfast menu all day? Wow.
Carolyn treated me, how generous.
Hashbrowns with green chile sauce and onions, over medium eggs and cheese on top, with bean and tortillas and alotta water. Heavenly.
Carolyn ordered the Chile Rellenos which we unbelievable. Next time I go, I will order those.
4. It's Thursday night.
That means tomorrow is Friday.
I am excited to put on my jammies, brush my teeth and get into bed.
I love my bed.
I love sleeping.
5. Roofrauff seems more energetic and happy.
When we went to the vet on Tuesday she said that his blood levels are normal.
The vet said it was a miracle.
We lowered his steroid dosage again.
There is a good chance he is going to be well from now on, though he still has a long road of healing ahead of him. We are hopeful.

Five things I am grateful for today
Dinner with Mead
Hope for a friend's career path brightening up for her
A ticket to Seattle to play with my favorite Wendy!

Five things I am grateful for today
My weekend starts today! I am grateful for the ton of overtime I have been working. I've been on call all weekend and ended up working my tail off! And now I am grateful to have two days off.
I am particularly grateful that everything that came up this weekend I felt like I could handle. And it wasn't just simple things that came up--"I have horrible chest pain and want to call 911", "My mother is combative and I can't get her to take any meds to calm down" and a death where I had to handle the whole situation. And it all went smoothly--everything was resolved relatively easily. It made me realize that sometimes I underestimate myself as a nurse. I don't want to do that anymore.
Roofrauff went for his first walk in a long while a couple of days ago. He was so cute, he even did his little happy dance.
My friend Carolyn, who I met through my cousin Tiffany, is coming to town this week. I always love seeing her. She is a deep and radiant being.
Mead came over for a little while yesterday. It was wonderful.

Five (x2) things I am grateful for today
This week has been very busy and equally rewarding. I love my job.
I have worked down in Nogales, Arizona two days of this week. It felt like such an adventure--crucial street signs missing on the way to the homes I look for, full big rose bushes covered in roses, shrines to la virgen de Guadalupe everywhere, lots of people outside talking to each other and a warm reception when I do actually find the right home.
I am listening to another wonderful audio book.
On Wednesday I was totally exhausted from having worked seventeen and a half hours the day/night before, and when I got home from work, rolling in on energetic fumes, E was making a lovely dinner. He told me to put my feet up and relax. He wouldn't even let me help with the dishes.
Roofrauff is more energetic than he has been. Also he is eating VERY well.
Yesterday when I got home from work, I rode my favorite bike, the Schwinn cruiser to Yoga Connection for the 5:30 class. I felt so healthy and strong. I am happy with myself for making so much effort to exercise and do yoga.
When I got home from yoga I called Sande and she came over for dinner. We had tacos. Yum. After we were done our other friend Casey stopped by. We all sat on the couch and chaise lounge and chatted for a while. Such a nice night.
I am the on-call nurse this weekend. I appreciate being trusted with that responsibility.
Monday and Tuesday will be official days off next week.
It has been warm and beautiful outside. I love spring.

Five things I am grateful for today
1. I completed some new art this weekend.
2. Sande stopped by last night to chat. I really like it when people stop by--it makes me feel like I live in a smaller town, not such a big city. Maybe that's a little silly...
3. Strawberries and pears
4. Today I am going to a yoga class that I l found last week that I love. Have I mentioned this will be my fourth yoga class this week? I am feeling healthy.
5. I bet the Rillito has water running through after all that rain we got yesterday, after yoga I am going to walk down and see.

Many things I am grateful for today
1. It's Saturday.
2. It's raining.
3. We have lots of fresh food in the kitchen and I am excited to make breakfast when E wakes up. My plan is to make quesadillas with caramelized sweet onions and green chiles, with an egg cooked in (see this recipe) topped with avocado, cilantro from the garden, chopped tomato and that amazing corn salsa from Trader Joe's. We are having these quesadillas on blue corn tortillas.
4. Work went well this week.
5. I am making new collages. Yesterday I stopped by Paper Paper Paper on my way home from work because my paper collection is so limited (not) and ended up showing the owner some of my work that I happened to have in the car with me. She said that she would like to sell it starting in the fall. I am extra happy because she would buy it for the store, it wouldn't be on consignment.
6. A good night's sleep
7. Inspiration! There are so many things I want to cook and craft right now.
8. You know those big avocados they have at Trader Joe's? Man, those really make me happy.
9. Outside TJ's this morning there was a middle aged guy playing the violin. It was beautiful. I stood there in the rain and listened to a few songs.
10. Paper, ink, stamps, glue sticks, tiny jewels, ribbon, mmmm
11. My friend Kevin has an interview in Scottsdale at some fancy hotel to be the catering chef. Fingers crossed!
12. Baby Roofrauff has been pretty snuggly for the past couple of days.
13. My friend Abby has a neat opportunity for her bakery. It would take her tiny business up a notch which is scary and exciting. Eeee! Good for her. Even if she decides not to do it, how cool that her products are appreciated in her community.
14. Regina is at Artfest in Washington! I am excited to hear all about it when she gets home.

Five (x2) things I am grateful for today
1. One tiny tomato on one of our tomato plants
2. Three flowers on the strawberry plant
3. New leaves on the zucchini and yellow squash seedlings
4. Roofrauff seems to be a little better--he is eating more, peeing in the house a little bit less and seems to be gaining a little weight.
5. Yesterday I hung around with Mead--we went to Ike's and then went for a long walk.
6. Last night a couple of my friends from St. Joe's and I went out to happy hour sushi at 10 and then went dancing. I hadn't gone dancing in forever and it was really fun.
7. I feel more inspired to do art than I have since RR got sick. I am getting the studio ready to start making framed collages again.
8. Friday night Sande and I made dinner and went swimming. I am so lucky to have friends who really GET me.
9. This has been the best weekend that I have had in a long time.
