1. A beautiful Thanksgiving with my mom, Eric, his mom (Mary Lou) and sister in-law (Monica). I could make a long list just from last night. Suffice to say I wouldn't change a thing and felt deeply thankful. Oh yeah, Roofrauff was there too, of course.
2. Gentle yoga
3. An hour long walk right before sunset at the Rillito
4. Leftovers
5. A nice chat with my brother today
6. My friends
7. Five days of having my mom here with me--we went for many long walks, ate awesome food, laughed, cooked, goofed off, saw Meadz, went shooting, and just generally enjoyed each other.
8. Eric's patience
9. Sugarplum Spice tea
10. My neighbors and neighborhood
11. Sunshine
12. Cheese
13. Our living room, kitchen and bathroom have several little bouquets of bougainvillea with mesquite fronds that my mom made. They make our house even more lovely.
14. Speaking of our house it is WAY more organized. Before my mom arrived E and I set up the guest room and made a lot of progress at moving in. Yes, we took an eight month break, whatever. It is looking and feeling homier than ever.
15. Last Saturday I bought this for the kitchen and E set it up for me. I am using it as an island of sorts. I love it--five more feet of counter space? Four more drawers? 4.5 feet of lovely bottom shelf action? Are you kidding?
16. And guess who finally planted the tiny garden after talking about it for a few months? Yes, that would be me. Three lettuces, two kinds of spinach, cilantro, parsley, peppermint, spearmint, rosemary, thyme, basil, and sage. Pretty awesome! They are like little pets. I love them.
17. Last night I slept pretty well. In case anyone has experience with insomnia, especially in conjunction with working night shift, please comment on any remedies/medicines/whatever that worked for you. I am getting pretty desperate. I am grateful in advance for your help and for a future time when I sleep well again.
18. Love
19. My family
20. The foods that Mary Lou and Monica brought last night were wonderful! Mary Lou made this amazing pie with a chocolate cookie crust and lots of whipped cream and other goodness. Monica brought a Honeybaked ham, wine and champagne. Delish!
21. A mostly very healthy body
22. Thanksgiving dinner turned out well.
23. Our nice clean house
24. One more day off
25. Big plans for tomorrow: lurk around and relax. Have tea with Sande if she isn't too busy. I hope she moves back here some day.
26. Salad
27. Christmas lights are going up on our street.
28. Hope
29. The heat dish, the space heater doo-dad from Costco
30. We almost always have enough of everything we need and want.
31. My first Thanksgiving without my dad wasn't so hard on my heart as I had feared. And I am feeling less broken than I did a year ago.
32. A high of 65 degrees in the end of November
33. I saw my cards that I made a couple of months ago. They inspired me to creep back into my studio sometime soon and play some more.
Love, love, love, love, love to you all.
